A piece of putty and a rubber ball have the same mass. If you drop them from the same height, which object will produce a greater impulse and why?
B. The rubber ball will produce a greater impulse because it will bounce.
The putty does not have the ability to create more impulse due to its shape and how it would react on impacting the surface of whatever you were dropping these two items onto. Much like a ball bouncing on the basketball court would have greater impulse than Play-Doh (no bouncing coming from this sticky situation).
