A steel beam of uniform cross section weighs 2.5 X 10^5 Newton's. If it is 5 meters long, what force is needed to lift one end of it? This was the correct format of the question, Ken. It was not 105, but 10^5. So 2.5 X 10^5 is the correct measurement. 2.5 x 100000 =250,000 N. Still working on the rest to post.
