The main ingredient of salt is sodium chloride, which is colorless cube crystal or white crystal. Soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol, liquid ammonia. It's not soluble in hydrochloric acid. There is a deliquescence in the air.
Density of 2.165 g/cm3 (25 ℃), melting temperature of 800.7 ℃, the boiling point of 1465 ℃.
Because the melting point and the boiling point are higher, the normal combustion cannot reach this point, so there is no reaction.
